No one wants to face insurmountable odds. When I was growing up, one of the first soccer teams I played for only won one game, and that was only because the opposing team didn’t show up. Needless to say, when we showed up for the game, the odds were rarely in our favor. That feeling can follow us in life. Even as Christians, we can look at the circumstances we are facing and feel like the odds are stacked against us. Even still, as Christians, we can and should have confidence that despite appearances to the contrary, the odds are always in God’s favor.
