In 1 Corinthians 1:1-3, Paul defines a healthy church. It’s a community that belongs to God, it’s a community that consists of those sanctified in Christ, and it’s a community called to live in holy submission to Christ as Lord. This opening passage provides a framework for the rest of the book, as 1 Corinthians unpacks the picture of a church that belongs to God and to one another. It’s my prayer that God will use this study of 1 Corinthians to make us a stronger, healthier, and more effective church as he continues to do work here in North Texas.
